The barcode or QR code image is not displayed
If you are directly inserting code into the account page, please check whether the inserted code is correct.
Can I insert barcodes and QR codes into both Customer accounts (Recommended) and Legacy accounts?
Yes, you can insert barcodes and QR codes into the account page (profile page) for both Customer accounts (Recommended) and Legacy accounts.
When using Shopify POS, "camera is not available" appears and the camera does not start with Barcodeator POS actions
Please make sure that the camera setting for Shopify POS is allowed on your device.
The displayed barcode or QR code cannot be read with the POS camera. Why?
The displayed barcode or QR code must be scanned through the Barcodeator app in Shopify POS.
Add tile > App > Barcodeator - Customer QR Code > App Extension Customer QR, barcode reader (New)
After adding the Barcodeator app to your POS tiles, tap the app to scan the customer’s barcode or QR code.

I want to use a 1D barcode in Shopify POS to add customers to the cart. Is this possible?
With the update to the Shopify POS Extension, it is now possible if you are using Shopify-supported Bluetooth barcode scanners.
After launching the camera from the Barcodeator app, you can scan a customer’s barcode (using a 1D barcode scanner) or QR code (using a 2D barcode scanner) and add them to the cart.
This allows stores using Socket Mobile 1D/2D barcode scanners or Zebra DS2208 USB barcode scanners to smoothly add customer accounts to the cart.
Note: 1D Bluetooth barcode scanners not supported by Shopify often connect to devices such as iPads or iPhones via Bluetooth HID protocol. If the scanner supports Code39 or Code128, the scanned result can be returned into the search field of "Search customers" or "Search."
Since the barcode value issued by Barcodeator corresponds to the Shopify customer ID, selecting the customer from the scanned value allows you to add the customer.
Can Barcodeator be used for in-store pickup (BOPIS)?
Yes, it can. Shopify POS allows you to check past orders from a customer account with one click. Please use the following steps for in-store pickup:
- Read customer information using the Barcodeator POS app
- Tap the added customer information in the cart to check past orders
- Mark the in-store pickup order as fulfilled
The barcode or QR code displayed on a monitor cannot be scanned. Why?
If the screen resolution is low, the camera may not correctly recognize the barcode or QR code.
Please use a high-resolution screen or display the barcode/QR code on a smartphone.
Google Wallet is not available
If your Shopify account page is using a theme version older than OS 2.0, you cannot add membership cards (barcodes or QR codes) to Google Wallet.
Please consider updating your theme or upgrading your customer account type.
