Leverage the Email & SMS Subscription UI Extension
This guide explains how to use the UI Extension for managing email and SMS marketing subscription preferences.
Step 1: Email & SMS Preferences Section
Navigate to
Settings > Checkout > Customize
or
Online Store > Themes > Customize > Checkout and Customer accounts
to open the customization screen, as shown below.
On the left panel, click the Apps icon.
From the section labeled AL CustomerMetaSync, select Marketing Preferences. This will display a marketing preferences section within the customer profile page.
You can rename the app block title to suit your brand or messaging needs.
Step 2: Verifying Behavior on the Profile Page
The customer’s email and SMS marketing statuses will be updated based on the toggle status.
⚠️ In the customization screen, dummy data is shown and does not reflect real customer accounts.
To test the actual behavior, please log in to your storefront as a real customer and visit the profile page.
⚠️ The SMS preference checkbox will only appear if the customer has a registered phone number.
